Strangest Invertebrate Ever
I’ve never seen anything like this, and apparently others haven’t either.

This a new image I made today. I used a technique called HDR, which yields a very art-y surreal feel to photos. I’m going to be using this technique a lot more, as I think it’s just beautiful.

Fascinating. I love the thought of a helicopter going really, really fast. I used to watch Airwolf as a child and thought it was a 100x times better than a plane. Might we be getting closer to a real Airwolf?

Keep an eye on this. Both countries are nuclear and hate each other. As the article astutely points out, this shift of focus to the Easter border of India now gives the terrorists in Pakistan much more room to move and train. It’s shameful that Pakistan would harbor terrorists, and now give them a military escort.

I’ve seen this before but I don’t believe I’ve posted it. Everyone just accepts this as a necessary evil. I love how the train station attendants wear white gloves and appear to be ready to chip in and shove. It’s like the hive-mind is trying to play a giant game of reverse-Jenga.

Have you been following the Zimbabwe saga as it unfolds? For many months, the dictator-tyrant Robert Mugabe has been resisting a world call for his removal. He’s rigged elections, murdered by the thousands and is now denying that cholera is spreading wildly in his country.
I would like to make a strong book recommendation to help you understand the psychology of communist/fascist regimes. 1984 by George Orwell perfectly dissects the tactics used by leaders like Mugabe, Hugo Chavez (Venezuela), and Kim Jong-il (North Korea).
Mugabe is running this one right out of the “1984″ playbook, so predictable it’s tiring. Keep your people impoverished and impotent and blame another “tyrant” country for your problems so you can look like you’re the great defender of your people.

On the night of Saturday, December 6th, two Special Guards of the Greek police clashed with a small group of young men. The exact details of what took place are still unclear, but it is known that one of the Guards fired three shots, and one of those bullets caused the death of 15-year-old Alexander Grigoropoulos - whether the injury was made by an accidental ricochet or deliberate shot remains to be determined. The two Guards are now in jail awaiting trial, the shooter charged with homicide. This incident sparked an immediate and widespread response in the form of angry demonstrations and riots in many Greek cities that have continued at varying levels to this day - though dimming in intensity recently. Alexander’s death appears to have been a catalyst, unleashing widespread Greek anger towards many issues - police mistreatment of protesters, unwelcome education reforms, economic stagnation, government corruption and more.

1) President Bush has amazing reflexes.
2) The Secret Service doesn’t: This clown could have entombed President Bush in Silly String before Secret Service finally got to him. And the press conference wasn’t in Cheyenne, WY, it’s in the middle of Iraq. Shouldn’t they be a little more prepared to react? I think the overweight agent that comes piling out of the door about 6 seconds after the first shoe is thrown, was finishing up a Big Mac value meal.
OVER THE EARPIECE: The President is being attacked!!!!
Fat Agent: It’s gonna have to wait. Have you had these McDonald’s fries?!? They’re heavenly.
3) Even though this was dangerous and angers me to no end that our President was assaulted, you have to give it to the guy for improv. If he’d worn some of those trendy, pointy shoes that guys are wearing all the time these days, he might have skewered the Pres. pretty good.
