This is one of the first of many planes that you’ll start to see that are geared towards a specific type of clientele…rich people who want to have a new thrill. Light Sports Aircraft (LSA’s) are planes that are “easier” to fly and they have safety features like parachutes in case the engine fails.
I gotta tell you, I’d want to fly this bad boy. They intended it to look like a sportscar. I think they did a pretty good job. Follow the link below to take a look at the interior pictures and a video of it.
This guy is brilliant. He made a working V-12 engine out of PAPER! Obviously it doesn’t work in the sense that it powers a car, but parts move so that’s all that matters to me. Things like this make me realize that I’m not a very patient person, nor should I ever try to do artistic things.
How many times have I made decisions to pursue something at the cost of peace. People do this all time when they work in a job that sucks their life dry just so they can make a little more money, or when they pursue an opportunity that’s laden with conflict and difficulty just so they can get something like fun or status.
The older I get, the more I understand that peace is one of God’s greatest gifts to us in life. Life is tumultuous as it is, so we should weigh our pursuits and value peace more in the equations.
Have you ever had a job you just hate? Haven’t we all? Most of the jobs in the first part of my career made me feel like a rat in a cage. I remember the feeling of looking into my future and feeling that I would never get to where I wanted to go. Didn’t matter that I didn’t know what I wanted at the time, just the nagging feeling that I wasn’t on the right track. Everyone pays their dues if they’re going to go on to something successful.
The worst job I ever had (besides Red Lobster) was when I was in college and I worked in a golf merchandise kiosk in the middle of the Lubbock mall. The problem was that my boss was an alcoholic, ex-pro golfer who was living off a dwindling trust fund. So he was a strange cocktail of a man: part laid-back, part desperate, and definitely on the rocks. As far as I know, I was his only employee and I don’t remember making one sale in the first week I was there. Nobody wanted to buy golf ball corkscrews at 1p in the middle of the mall on a Thursday. During the 3 weeks I worked there, I watched him deteriorate, quite like Nicholas Cage in the movie, “Leaving Las Vegas”. I got paid minimum wage and just barely that. The worst part of the job besides the sheer boredom was that he would lurk around the corners to see if I was jumping on potential customers that walked by. He scared the bejeebers out of me and seemed to get a lot of joy out of sneaking up on me.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had? I love the ad below, been there…
Have you ever seen the movie, Falling Down? It’s a movie where the main character is so beat down by the rules in his life, his day to day grind, and the lack of respect he gets that he finally snaps and goes on a killing spree. It’s a little extreme and unbelievable, but then you see a clip like this of an office worker in Russia who lost it and you can kind of believe that maybe it’s not so preposterous.
Funny how few people actually left. People are just too curious.
The other day, some friends and I were reminiscing about the good old days of video games. Atari, Intellivision, and Nintendo. The next day I ran across an add-on for Firefox called FireNES. You’re not going to believe this, but it’s a built-in plugin for Firefox that allows you to play over 2500 Nintendo games for free on your computer. I played Excitebike, Super Techmo Bowl, and 1942. Unfotunately, they don’t have Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, which is a travesty. But this should keep you entertained for hours. If you’ve never installed an add-on to Firefox or don’t use firefox for a web browser you don’t know what you’re missing. Email me if you have any questions about it kevin@hailofaday.com
If you are frustrated with Evite as an online event invitation and event sharing site, then check out www.socializr.com . Apparently, it can integrate with your other social networking sites, such as Facebook and Myspace. Also, it allows you to integrate your own videos and photos from flickr and youtube.
